1. Renew Wellbeing
Renew Wellbeing is pleased to be able to support Yinka in his presidential year with Baptists Together . We encourage you to get engaged in your communities along with Yinka and are delighted to be one of his community projects this year.
Renew Wellbeing exists to encourage, challenge, train and support churches to get involved in the mental and emotional wellbeing of their communities in simple, safe, sustainable ways. We help churches think through issues around mental wellbeing and work closely with other charities providing training in this area.
We provide training online and free during lockdown and online / in person post lockdown) and support to get wellbeing cafes ( Quiet shared spaces where its ok not to be ok) opened around three principles: Be present , Be prayerful and be in partnership with mental health services.
We believe prayer is key and we teach simple rhythms of prayer that can be shared in our communities with those who are increasingly wanting to pray . The cafe style spaces that we had pre lockdown were “ bring a hobby , share a hobby” and we are now having a go at this on zoom etc but preparing for opening doors again to our communities ready to join God in renewing wellbeing at a time when this will be more needed than ever
2. TLG
Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) is a children’s charity that helps churches to bring hope and a future for struggling children.
This may be through intensive support for those that have been excluded from school through TLG Education Centres; a volunteer coach offering one to one help as a mentor in local schools through TLG Early Intervention; or providing food to children who would otherwise go hungry during the holidays through TLG Make Lunch.
We are all about believing change is possible and that’s why across all our programmes lies an unchanging resolve to transform lives for good.
These will help you practically and incarnational engage with those around you through community transformation / social action initiatives that will help with evangelism.
